A Beacon for the Community

Western Heritage Credit Union’s membership growth required them to expand and build a new branch in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. The goal for the project was to keep the facility full of light and create an open, secure atmosphere.

The staff has unobstructed visibility for members entering the facility and of the three drive-up lanes. Alesia Architecture designed the teller counter to back up to the drive-thru, allowing tellers good visibility so they can assist in both locations as needed.

The branch has four teller stations and five loan offices to assist members with their financial objectives. The two-story volume of the interior space is open to both the teller and loan offices. Alesia designed a beautiful clerestory that fills the lobby and adjacent offices with natural light, and at night, this clerestory illuminates, similar to a lighthouse.

The building is a single story with an unfinished basement allowing for future growth.
