Improving Workflow and Reducing Patient Stress

This renovation design features an improved floor plan for staff work, including a large triage room, four fast-track exam rooms, two isolation / psychiatric rooms, and a 1,300 SF trauma treatment area. The centralized nursing station gives a clear view into each of the six exam rooms. Sliding safety glass doors were installed on all exam rooms. The lobby and waiting area was renovated for greater confidentiality for patients but also with calming colors and amenities to help ease stress. Additionally, a Sim-man room for teaching was added, as was a break room for staff members to recharge after working in a high-stress environment.
